Phi-Beta Rush

RUSH is the time period when the fraternities in a college campus are formally allowed to accept new members. Each prospective new member will go around to events that the fraternity holds during week at the beginning of a semester.
Why RUSH a fraternity? That is a question that many young men ask themselves every year as they enter into college life. It is a tough question, with a lot of information to consider while trying answering it. Many things run through you mind such as, "Why do I want to undergo Hazing?" Hazing is any thing that makes you physically or mentally uncomfortable. This is problem on college campuses across the United States. There are other things that run through your mind such as, "What do I get from rushing a fraternity?" In 1972 Lambda Chi Alpha did away with Pledging, and created a new program called the Associate Member Program or New Member Program as it is most commonly called now. Pledging is the time period where you are still under consideration to become an initiated member. Unfortunately it most commonly brings on hazing, that is why Lambda Chi Alpha did away with it. We, the chapter, PLEDGE TO YOU that you will not undergo any form of hazing! You will be treated the same as everyone in the fraternity.

What do I get from Rushing a fraternity? Lambda Chi Alpha International Fraternity is one of the largest men's general fraternities in North America with more than 227,000 initiated members and has held subsidiaries (called chapters) at more than 300 universities. These members work in all Professions, which can help you while trying to find a job after school. But I want to talk about what you get while in school. Lambda Chi Alpha serves to complement higher education by providing opportunities for academic achievement, leadership development, and lifelong friendships. You become a member of a family of around 50 guys. There is a sense of belonging for every member of Lambda Chi Alpha. There are guys there when you need help or when you just want to hang out. And several times a semester we get together with several sororities for social events to have great time together.
